Leicester City agree deal in principle for Iheanacho

Leicester City have had a £25 million bid for Manchester City striker Kelechi Iheanacho accepted, according to Sky Sports.

There are still a number of contractual issues to be worked out, including whether or not to include a buy-back clause for the 20-year-old. Leicester City’s Craig Shakespeare believes a partnership with Jamie Vardy would be formidable. Both strikers having incredible pace and deadly finishing.

Iheanacho was part of the Nigerian team that won the FIFA under-17 World Cup back in 2013, where he won the Golden Ball award. In the 2016/2017 season with Manchester City he managed to score seven goals in only 29 appearances having been infrequently used, falling behind in the hierarchy behind Sergio Aguero and Gabriel Jesus. He would Leicester’s third signing of the summer.
